Bios

 • Ms. Amber Langley

Over the years, Ms. Amber has had the opportunity watch children grow and help them achieve all the milestones childhood has to offer. Her favorite part of her day is walking into a classroom and seeing all the smiles, receiving several hugs, and playing games or singing songs with all the eager children! Ms. Amber and her husband have three children of their own.

 • Ms. Christina

Ms. Christina's goal is to encourage children to express individuality through artistic exploration and creativity. She helps infants learn to engage with others by talking with them; communicating through non-verbal gestures; telling stories and singing songs to model conversational skills; and using picture books to build associations between sounds, objects, and words. Ms. Christina also helps infants improve mobility and coordination by supporting babies as they roll from side to side and learn to crawl, stand, and walk; and by supporting the development of motor skills with blocks and shape boards. She also ensures that she meets all children's individual needs for rest and nutrition.

 • Ms. Erica

Ms. Erica's goal is to lay the foundation for infants to develop trusting relationships. She responds to each baby with sensitivity and attention; uses words, facial expressions, and eye contact to communicate; and uses family photos to promote self-awareness and provide continuity with each child's home. Ms. Erica helps babies build brain power in a loving and caring environment. She prepares infants to think and reason by exploring the concepts of cause and effect, trial and error, and object permanence through play; provides a variety of materials of different colors, sizes, textures, and shapes for infants to explore; and encourages the use of all five senses so that babies can safely discover the world.

 • Ms. Allison

Ms. Allison's goal is to increase children's language skills and help children experience a sense of community in her classroom. She guides children as they develop new physical abilities and express their own individuality through imaginative play, music, dancing, and outdoor fun. Ms. Allison provides opportunities for children to practice sorting, matching, and categorizing while also providing blocks and math cards for children to use to learn counting, number identification, and patterning. Ms. Allison also places a focus on age-appropriate problem resolution and, of course, making new friends! Children in her classroom strengthen large-motor skills with riding equipment, balls, and movement activities; improve fine-motor and eye-hand coordination through pouring, stringing, and (supervised) cutting activities; and develop coordination using beanbags, hula hoops, and balance beams. At meal time, Ms. Allison encourages children to serve themselves so that they can begin developing self-reliance--but always gives a helping hand when someone needs it!

 • Ms. Kristen

Ms. Kristen's goal is to provide a positive environment where language and literacy development will flourish. She believes that when children feel secure in their environment, they are more likely to engage in frequent, age-appropriate conversations that inherently build vocabulary and social skills. Ms. Kristen works with children individually, in small groups, and as a whole group at different times during the day. She displays the children's original artwork, their own writing with invented spelling, and stories dictated by the children during our afternoon group time. She also sends home children’s work in their portfolios and take-home folders. Ms. Kristen uses lacing cards, stencils, and writing activities to help children enhance their fine-motor skills; and uses running, jumping, and throwing activities to help children strengthen their coordination and gross-motor skills. Ms. Kristen offers children healthful food choices for snacks and meals, while also helping children learn that what we eat is important, and that our bodies need the right amount of exercise and nutrition to stay healthy.
